Arrival

You arrive at Entebbe International Airport and a representative will meet you and drive you to your hotel. Please feel free to ask questions about Uganda along the way.

Early morning after the morning breakfast our driver guide will pick you from the hotel and set off to the adventure city and one of the oldest towns in Uganda with a visit to Sseziba falls that is about 20 miles on Kampala-Jinja Highway. The falls is surrounded by lush greenery and a forest. They are also an important Buganda Kingdom Cultural heritage site. You shall have lunch in Jinja before embarking on the Nile boat cruise to the source of the world’s longest river.

Drive to Murchison falls National park and Ziwa Rhino sanctuary

Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch located in Nakasongola, 176km north of Kampala {2hrs 20min} on the Gulu high way towards Murchison Falls National Park is home to the only wild rhinos in Uganda. Presently the sanctuary is home to twenty-two (22) southern white rhinos.

As these rhinos are free to move around on 7 000 hectares of land, it is often necessary to drive to the areas where the rhinos are before tracking them on foot.

While at the sanctuary you may also encounter a range of other wildlife species including, oribis, bush bucks, water bucks among others. You will need 1½ to 2½ hours depending on the location of the rhinos.

After Rhino tracking you shall have lunch at the sanctuary and continue to Murchison falls.

Morning Game drive and Boat cruise on the Nile.

Wake up for a game drive with packed breakfast. Murchison Falls National Park is bisected by the River Nile and is composed of woodland, wetland, savannah as well as tropical forest. The game drives are done in the savanna plains on the northern bank up to the delta where the Nile powers its waters in Lake Albert up to lunch time. Among the mammals are to look out for are: lions, Cape buffalo, Uganda kob, Jackson’s hartebeest, elephants and    Rothschild’s giraffe. Murchison host the biggest number of the Rothschild’s giraffe species in the world.

After lunch you go for boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. A boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls is another rewarding experience to view wildlife and birds. Hippos, waterbucks, crocodiles, buffaloes and elephants can be seen along the banks of the Nile.   Birds usually seen during the cruise include: Cormorants, African fish Eagles, Spur-winged goose, African darter, Giant Kingfisher, Red-throated Bee-eater, Water thick knee among the many.

At the bottom of the falls, you leave the boat and take 20-minute hike to the top of the falls for sunset pictures over River Nile.  At the top of the falls, you will see the Nile waters forced into a narrow gap 7m wide as they plunge down in a 35m drop in a majestic cascade that has been named the “Cradle of the Nile”. Your driver will pick you and drive you Paraa where you will cross to the hotel by boat.

Drive from Murchison fall National park to Fort portal.

Early breakfast then you check out and drive to Fort Portal via Masindi you will have lunch stop in Hoima. (5hrs)

Surrounded by tea plantations and with the scenic Rwenzori as its back drop, Fort portal is regarded as Uganda’s most attractive town with pleasant climate and housing the Tooro Kingship palace.

After dinner, you can relax from the long day drive and sip a drink as you share your pictures with your loved ones using the wireless internet access in the lodge.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park and Boat cruise on the Kazinga channel

Wake up early have breakfast and then you drive to Top of the World spot for the panoramic view of the Kasenda crater area and have lunch after. From here you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National park and do a launch cruise of Kazinga Channel.

The channel joins Lake George to Lake Edward.  Kazinga channel is an oasis for many of the fascinating species that inhabit the park. A boat cruise gives you a chance to watch schools of hippos, buffalo’s elephants and a lot of birds.

Early morning game drive and Katwe salt mining village in the afternoon

Early wakeup, call have a quick cup of coffee/tea and at 6.00 am go for a game drive with packed breakfast. The main focus of the game drive will be looking for lions around Kasenyi and photographing the park’s landscapes. Queen’s main attractions are: craters carved into rolling green hills, panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel with its banks lined with hippos, buffalo and elephants, the Ishasha plains home to tree climbing lions. Return for lunch at 1:00pm. In the mid-evening you do a game drive to the Crater Lakes and the Baboon cliff to explore these features and proceed to Lakes Katwe and Munyanyange. For centuries, locals have been mining salt from Lake Katwe. Culturally, to be called a man, you must own at least one salt plot in the lake.  The lake is divided into plots that can look beautiful when photographed from a high elevation.  A visit to the lake gives you the experience of meeting the local people as they go about their centuries old trade- salt mining.  One nearby Crater Lake called Munyanyange (Cattle egret in the local language) attracts huge flamingo flocks not seen elsewhere in Uganda. The area also has several crater lakes.

Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable national park via Ishasha sector

After breakfast you drive to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth at Ishasha and do a small game drive searching for the tree climbing lions and then then check in the Ishasha Wilderness Camp for lunch.

After lunch, drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park.

Gorilla tracking

Wake up early have breakfast and assemble for a briefing before 8:00am. At 8.30 you enter the forest to track the Mountain Gorillas.  Tracking can take from 2 hours to half a day or even a full day depending on how far the gorillas are and which gorilla family you track. 

What to Bring for Gorilla Tracking?

Good walking boots, wet weather clothing and warm layers for the evenings – it gets cold and damp at this altitude. The sun is still fierce during the day – even when overcast – so be sure to still wear sunscreen and a sun hat. You may also want to bring waterproof bags to protect cameras and other equipment when hiking.

Batwa community visit and Drive to Lake Bunyonyi

Early morning after breakfast, you do a community tour and get close to the locals by visiting handcraft shops. The neighboring Batwa community in Buhoma performs songs and dances about their former life in the forest. During the tour, you learn how to make to make juice, beer and gin from bananas and taste it too and learn about their culture and have lunch. After lunch drive to Lake Bunyonyi for an over stay and cruise on the lake.

Drive to Mbarara for the Ankole culture experience

After breakfast you visit the Igongo Cultural Center for the Ankole culture and the Ankole long horned cattle, have lunch and visit the Eclipse Monument that was built in memorial of the eclipse that happened way back in the 1500 AD and have an over stay.

Drive to Kampala

After the morning breakfast, hit the road back to the capital (Kampala) and have a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for lunch and Equator experience.

After the morning Breakfast at your hotel you will be picked by the driver guide for a Kampala city sightseeing tour, social life encounter, religious encounters and the local foods and local markets.

- Ngamba Island for chimps

We pick you from your hotel at 7am and take you to Entebbe where we board a boat to Ngamba Island. It takes about 45 minutes for a speed boat and about 90 minutes in a motorized canoe to reach the island.

Surrounded by the peaceful waters of Lake Victoria, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary is home to 49 orphaned chimpanzees rescued from across East Africa. Chimpanzee Sanctuary and Wildlife Conservation Trust (Chimpanzee Trust), an NGO, is responsible for all aspects of the sanctuary. The trust aims to sustainably conserve Chimpanzees in their habitats and provide captive care to those who cannot survive in the wild. A trip to Ngamba will give you the L.Victoria experience, feeding the Chimpanzees, visiting the neighbouring fishing villages. It is a whole day visit and overnight stay in Entebbe.
